If you're a dad, you're in the club.

Fathers, grandfathers, uncles, big brothers raising kids — if a Universal Star calls you theirs, this table is yours. No forms to find, no season to miss: walk in. The by-laws agree: any father or legal guardian of an enrolled student is already a regular member — with a vote.

We welcome those who identify with our culture — read our mission and core values.

Membership

What membership means.

Three verbs, no committees to apply to.

01

Show up

A monthly hour in the MPR. The meeting is the membership; everything else grows out of it.

02

Serve

One shift, one iftar, or one game-night crew a year. The club runs on fathers who took a single turn and came back.

03

Speak

Your table's questions reach the school board through the president's vote. That seat is written into the school's own handbook.

What you get

The return on one hour.

Dates, the by-laws, and grant rules live here — no scrolling the WhatsApp group to check a fact.

Monthly field notes

One cited parenting note a month: what the research says, one action per piece, printable for the fridge. Start with Why a Fathers Club Exists.

Game nights with your kids

The breakfasts, game nights, and Community Iftar your kids actually remember are on this club's calendar too, from PreK through 12th grade.

A service ledger that counts

Signed shift sheets, tracked by the club, that families can share toward NHS chapter targets and Illinois service-learning when those programs accept them (each sets its own rules; hours are never guaranteed). Your hours and your kid's hours, logged in one place.

The widest table in Bridgeview

Fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and big brothers of a school of nearly 800 students, at one table, all grades at once. The other dads in the drop-off line are already here.

How to join

Three steps, one of them walking.

Come to the next meeting

Tue Nov 10, Multi-Purpose Room, 6:00pm when scheduled. Every 2026-27 date is on the calendar; pick the one that fits.

Say salaam and sign the sheet

There is a sign-in at the door. That is the paperwork — and your attendance is what makes you eligible to hold office later.

You're in

Dues and particulars are set by the club at its meetings, so ask any officer at your first one. No season to miss: the table adds chairs.

Join the Club — sign up

Pending: A club email and WhatsApp land here at launch. Until then, call the school office at (708) 599-4100 and ask to be pointed to a Fathers Club officer — or just walk into the next meeting.

Questions

The questions dads actually ask.

Do I have to pay?

The by-laws set no dues. Every father or legal guardian of an enrolled student is a regular — voting — member, and the fundraising committee funds the club’s annual budget instead. Nothing about walking in requires a fee or a form.

How much time?

One meeting hour a month. Give more if you want; the breakfasts, game nights, and service days all run on fathers who came for the first hour and stuck around.

Can I hold office?

Yes. Any voting member who attended half of the regular meetings last school year can run (by-laws, Art. III). Officers are elected annually at the last meeting of the year, with a three-term limit on the same office.

Do I need to coach a team?

No. Cheer first; the athletic director runs his own coach pipeline, and it doesn't need rescuing. What the stands are short on is fans.

I'm not a father. Can I help?

The Mothers' Club is its own table, with its own president and its own board seat. This club's service days, though, welcome every adult hand that shows up.

My kid's in PreK. Too early?

The breakfasts and game nights start young, and so does the habit. Eighteen years is a long trust; starting in PreK is starting on time.

Is this an official school program?

Independent by design. The club is built into the school's own bylaws (the president's board seat comes from the Parent Handbook) and is run by the parents, not the administration.

Student Council

Alumni network

A Student Council initiative — separate from Fathers Club membership.

One of the Student Council’s goals this year is to build a network of past Universal School students for the betterment of our present Universal School students. Together, we can build a brighter future for our school community, inshallah.
